So has anyone heard of this new show, "Meet Mr. Mom"? Damnit, I am SO sick and tired of people thinking, "hey, that's a guy; he must therefore be an inherently inferior parent to any and all females we find".
Alright, listen up assholes, there are lots of deadbeat moms out there who don't do a damned thing for their kids, and lots of great stay-at-home dads who take care of everything around the house as well as all of the childcare related tasks. Stop with the bullshit.
Myself? I don't intend to be a "dad". I'm not going to sit there watching sports all night, or try to be the breadwinner, or overall be a complete dullard when it comes to children. I don't, in fact, intend to fit any of the stereotypes associated with being male today. I'm going to do as much housework as I can, and be at least as involved in my kids' upraising as my wife. That will make me a considerate partner and a loving parent. Don't fucking mock me and demean my efforts by calling me "Mr. Mom" or anything like that (as a sidenote, I would actually prefer to be the female parent, but that's another story entirely, and beside the point here). Don't insinuate that having a penis instantly means I can't be nurturing, sensitive and loving.
Not just "moms" are good parents. Fuck you all.
